Disco 120: - 11 years
Josefine Frida from the TV series Shame excels as the young Christian dancer Mirjam. She is world champion in disco dance and youth leader in the hip free church Friheten, where her stepfather is pastor. She catches up with her trophies in the family's beautiful home, but one day she collapses in a competition. Miriam's body stops obeying and she enters a life crisis. Her parents urge her to work even harder with her faith to find balance, but that only makes her more doubtful. In her desperate search, she is lured into a church of a sectarian nature with a much stricter view of Christianity than she is used to. Jorunn Myklebust Syversen's second feature film is a very strong upbringing drama about faith, doubt and different kinds of ecstasy. Disco is five times nominated by Amanda, Norway's equivalent of the Golden Bug.
