Two important women are at the center when the Opera Agency offers the concert "Wilhelmine and Marianna - from the Prussian court to the Michaelerhaus in Vienna"
The first act focuses on the princess and composer Wilhelmine von Bayreuth (1709-1758). We offer dramatic arias from her violent opera Argenore, including a coloratura aria about a gnawing war horse (!). We get to hear Bayreuth's rarely played Harpsichord Concerto in G minor as well as music by Joseph Abaco, Franz Benda and Johann Adolf Hasse.
In the second act, we visit the Michaelerhuset in Vienna, where the composer Marianna Martines (1744-1812) lived. At the top of the house lived Haydn, who was her music teacher. On the ground floor lived the old court poet Metastasio, who wrote the texts for Martine's arias. During the concert we also get to meet Nicola Porpora who was Martine's singing teacher and Johann Adolf Hasse who taught her composition. It will be a mixture of funny stories and absolutely lovely music. Warm welcome!
