The incredibly popular fiddler and storyteller Thomas Andersson is something of a hub in the oral storytelling tradition in Västerbotten.
In his own work, When Our Lord Made Bygdsiljum and All the Other Things, staged by Västerbottensteatern, Andersson draws on his childhood Sunday school lessons where his worldview was shaped. Together with his violin, and mostly in peasant language, we learn that God did indeed start from Bygdsiljum when the world was created.
