The shacks at Fäbodbäcken date back to the Middle Ages. Even in the middle of the 19th century, there were a large number of buildings here: kitchens, dairies and barns. The shack operation was discontinued at the end of the 19th century in connection with the repeated lowering of Aspåfjärden, which provided additional fertile arable land.
Now the summer pasture embankment has been restored and you can get an insight into its bygone heyday. In the area there is a barbecue hut, overnight shelters and cottages free to use. From the summer cottages, a beautiful path leads to Lake Vinsjön.
