Björkudden

Today, Björkudden is a resting place right by the river with timbered windbreaks and a fireplace. The village association handles the filling of firewood and is responsible for waste management. Here are excellent fi spoon and bathing spots and a view of Sågforsen and Åbroforsen.

At Björkudden, there were previously both power plants, sawmills and calf mills. The road that leads past the cape was previously a church road between Nordmaling and Gräsmyr.

The Swedish Forest Stewardship Council has signposted a natural and cultural-historical hiking trail with a starting point at Björkudden. An information board describes, among other things, the sawmill, coal bottom and tar valleys. The loop passes the rock carvings at Laxforsen.
