Already 2000 years ago there were settlements in what is now Rundvik but which at that time were no more than a few low skerries in the sea belt. Remains can be seen very close to the water tower in Rundvik in the form of so-called elves, ie paving that was the basis for simple huts and fireplaces.
The place should have been well chosen as a base for fishing and seal hunting on the inside of a small island, protected from the sea.
The plots are now at about 20 meters above sea level. Since the land uplift has been on average about 1 meter per hundred years, it can be concluded that there are traces of people who lived during the Iron Age around 2000 years ago.
