Since 1762, iron has been in focus at Olofsfors mill. The forests and watercourses made it possible to produce high-quality pig iron and bar iron. The iron ore was brought home from mines in Uppland and Bergslagen and the finished products were exported to Europe. The old working environment is among the best preserved in the country. Olofsfors mill as a cultural heritage is classified as one of Västerbotten County's national interests.

The Olofsfors Mill Museum Foundation cares for large parts of the area and arranges exhibitions and activities. Welcome to a guided tour you too!
