The mouth of the Öre River is probably the fastest growing land area in the municipality due to the large amounts of sediment that the river carries with it during the spring. The delta is well developed with, among other things, side furrows, cordoned bays, sandy islands and dunes overgrown with deciduous forest.
The lower five kilometers of the Öre River constitute an important reproduction area for salmon and sea trout. The netting (odnejon eye) has been important for a long time. The area is also the only place north of Gotland where the beetle Heterocerus hispidulus lives. There is also a rich bird life here. In the Öreälven estuary area, there are very many different aquatic plant species, a total of more than 30 purely water-bound.
In the estuary area there are two popular sandy beaches, Rattle and Örsten, and Alvik with a marina and buildings from the fl ottning era.
